The Colour of Evil : Part 1A
Monday, January 19, 2009 at 1:02PM Hey folks.
Here's the first part of a series of videos I'm doing trying to show you guys how I go about colouring Brad's Evil Inc strips. Well actually it's this is the first part of the...uh...first part of the series of...whatever.
Now since this video is more of a "how to" type of thing than the last one, some of y'all might find it a bit dryer than the previous one, and for that I'm sorry. It also probably doesn't help that the video you see here was captured after no less than a dozen recording attempts. So I'm afraid it lost any kind of wacky spontaneity it might have had after session number eight.
Anyway, I've got part 1B in the can as well and will most likely be posting it here tomorrow. So if you're up for more exciting "manipulating lineart" action, you know where to go.
Alrighty folks, I still have a lot of work to do today, so I better get to it.
Later,
-Ed

Hey Ed!
Dry or not, I'm sure you've blown several hundred minds by showing them that Multiply is not the only way to colour under scanned line art! :) Good on you :)
If Photoshop has a big flaw, it's that there's fifty ways to do anything!
Looking forward to more. Later!

Yeah, I thought of putting that method in there too, but I rarely use it so I figured I should stick more with what I personally use the most. There's a fourth method I've done before too where you put the lineart in a channel instead of a layer, so I may do a follow up where I show both of those.
And I agree, if there's one way to do something in Photoshop, there's at least a dozen more. However I'm still searching for that perfect shortcut key stroke that can make it do all my colouring for me. One day, though. One day. :P
That you very much for showing this!!! I'm going to be starting a webcomic with my roommate very soon and this is a great help. After you first video my roommate and I were like "I love seeing these but I wish the artists would slow it down."
Thanks again!
