Ed Ryzowski was born, raised, and still lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba (that's in Canada by the way). Though to be honest, with each passing frigidly cold winter he finds it harder and harder to understand why he stays there.
After high school he attended the School of Fine Art at the University of Manitoba, only to make the bold (though some might see it as "spectacularly insane") decision to drop out just before his thesis year and quit art altogether for the better part of a decade. In 2005 however he came to question the wisdom of that life choice, and so he began his long humbling trek back into the art world by starting up the webcomic, Geek Tragedy (forgive the art there, as he was still shaking the rust off at the time).
Over the next few years he worked diligently to try and rebuild his art skills (because in case you were wondering, not picking up a pencil for 7 years does a wonderful job of atrophying any artistic ability one might have once possessed), until he finally reached a level where he once again began to feel confident with what he could do behind the wheel of a drafting table (or more commonly these days, a Cintiq). At which point he did what any rational person would do. He put the webcomic he worked so very hard build an audience for on hiatus, and began focusing all of his attention on work on other projects.
Still, in the end the move paid off as currently Ed works full-time as a freelance artist who's main focus (at the moment at least) is that of a colorist for various comics and publishers. As well, Ed is constantly working to try and expand his skills in other areas of art including caricature work, illustration, and pole dancing. It should also be noted that while he does still have very serious plans to resurrect Geek Tragedy on day, that day is still most likely a ways off.
At the moment though Ed has grown very tired of writing about himself, and even more so having to do it in the third person, so he's going to save this and head to bed.
